METAvivor is heading to Washington DC to meet with Senators and Representatives on April 4 & 5! This year more than ever, we need to give a voice and face to metastatic breast cancer. Join us for METAvivor Capitol Hill Day and make your voice heard with Congress! Capitol Hill day is a continuation of a grassroots effort to bring volunteers from across the country together in Washington, DC, to advocate for advancing medical research and to continue access to quality healthcare for individuals impacted by MBC. The event will include a luncheon, education session and visits with congressional offices. Teams of patients and research investigators will visit with Senators and Representatives to educate them about stage IV metastatic cancer and ask them to support the community by facilitating additional funding for research and keeping affordable, accessible healthcare a priority. Ahead of the event, there will be brief training sessions for individuals interested in learning more about the issues facing the community and how to effectively engage congressional staff. You do not need to be an expert in civics or government to help create positive change, you just need to stand up and speak out!
